Historic New England - Gropius House 1938
Walter Gropius (1883-1969) is known for founding the Bauhaus school and promoting a new architectural approach that integrated art, nature, and technology. His design for the 1938 Lincoln home highlights his belief in the strong connection between a house and its landscape—an idea that has become central to Green and Sustainable Design today.
